Spring 2026 Submarine Tours

 NOTICE:  According to the calendar, Spring has Sprung !  Not sure that Winter has got the message yet . . .

We are now beginning the transition to out Spring hours, and we will be opening more and more as the season advances and things warm up.

PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to check the weather at Port Burwell before heading out to visit.  Our openings are WEATHER DEPENDENT - Lake Erie still has some ice on it, and the water is very cold - this impacts the surrounding land.  For those who are familiar with the area, they know that in the Spring the cold lake water retards the arrival of Spring, while in the Fall, the warm lake water extends the season.

Our Spring program is on our website now, and will be added to as our planning moves forward.

NOTE: Children under  16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED by an Adult in order to take the tour.

We strongly suggest that you watch the weather as your planned tour date approaches, and the situation in Port Burwell can change very quickly.  Remember, our Province is huge, and while it may be sunny in Toronto, it could be raining  at Port Burwell, and vice versa.  Dress for the weather, and please be sure to check the forecast for Port Burwell on your weather app, as it could be quite different here.  Remember, the Boat is NOT HEATED, so dress warmly, as you may be surprised how well the submarine can 'hold the cold'.

This 60+ minute tour will take you through the boat, entering the forward torpedo room, and exiting from the after torpedo room, and will give you a greater appreciation of the cramped conditions the crew had to function in. Minimum age for children taking the tour is 8 years old.   It has been our experience over the years that children under that age have difficulty with the length of the tour.  Pets are not permitted on the tours (service animals excepted) - and even they can be quite stressed by the open stairways and the odours of oils and lubricants found on board, so please consider this when planning your tour.  We now have  two fenced pens where you may choose to have your pet wait while you take your tour.  Each area offers shade and fresh water, and are available on a first come, first served basis.  

This has been our busiest season so far, with us selling out many days and doing our best to add additional tours as time and staff allowed.  Consequently, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you arrive at our ticket office at least 15 minutes before your tour time.  If you have not checked in at our ticket office  at least 5 minutes before your scheduled tour time, your space(s) may be offered to other visitors.  Should you subsequently arrive, every effort will be made to fit you onto the next available tour, if there is sufficient space available, but we cannot guarantee there will be spaces available.
